Greetings Sorors and Friends
Welcome to the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Franklin-Jeanerette Alumnae Chapter website!
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated chartered the Franklin-Jeanerette Alumnae Chapter on June 6, 1987. As mandated by Grand Chapter, every effort is made to address the Five-Point Program of Delta. Chapter programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of the community. The key word is …SERVICE.
Founded on Christian principles, internationally, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its founding, more than 250,000 women have joined the organization. The sorority currently has over 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Republic of Korea.
Much is demanded of the members who live many-faceted lives involving religious, civic, fraternal, professional, and other obligations of time, service, personal finances, and dedication. BUT, it is DEDICATION and COMMITMENT to Delta which permits a woman to expend her energies in service. I am committed to leading our chapter forward as we stand on the shoulders of the 22 founders of Delta Sigma Theta, past national presidents, and the past presidents of Franklin-Jeanerette Alumnae Chapter. I am excited about our chapter’s direction since we started our sorority year from July 1, 2022 and continue to meet the high expectations of Sisterhood, Service, Scholarship, and Social Action with our chapter them for this biennium: “Show Up—Answering the Call!”
If you are a soror of Delta Sigma Theta, and would like to re-establish your connection, please come “home to Franklin-Jeanerette Alumnae” and join us at our next public event or sorority meeting.
Yours in Service and Sisterhood,
Alexis C. Rack, Chapter President
